Echo-guided life support [EGLS] course

We are glad to be part of the ECHO GUIDED LIFE SUPPORT- EGLS in WOODLANDS HEALTH CAMPUS on 17th January 2025. We are grateful for the opportunity to support a learning journey of many physicians from Intensive, Emergency, Family medicine and Internal Medicine with our Fujifilm Sonosite latest ultrasound EDGE II, S II, ST and LX systems for the hands-on training.

EGLS course is designed to provide participants with an introduction to the use of ultrasound in the hemodynamically unstable patient cared for by a physician working in an acute care setting. By “acute setting,” refer to intensive care units, emergency departments, or any other area where sick patients may present unexpectedly. This is precisely where a structured algorithm, such as the one provided in the EGLS course, is most beneficial.

Whether you are a physician who has prior experience with ultrasound and seeks to expand your knowledge or a novice who wants to gain introductory skills, this course is designed for you.

Course Objectives:

By the end of the training, participants will be better able to:

1. Categorize undifferentiated shock using an algorithmic approach;
2. Identify pneumothorax and interstitial syndrome using lung ultrasound;
3. Recognize signs of obstructive shock (tamponade, pulmonary embolism);
4. Qualitatively assess left ventricular function;
5. Assess the inferior vena cava;
6. Assess volemic status and fluid responsiveness potential.

Advanced diagnostic ultrasound technology not only improves the quality of healthcare but also makes the diagnostic process a lot smoother for patients. We look forward to collaborating work with the team again with our Sonosite advanced ultrasound technology systems :)
